Our First Sunday Exploring the Neighborhood!

We made a bunch of shopping stops on Sunday morning, since I had a list a mile long of “things we need!” So, we hit all the stops … Costco, Target, Traders, and some other places that I can’t remember any more! But then, after a rest, we decided to take a little walk around our neighborhood and do some exploring. Wow, were we surprised! We walked down a couple of blocks to Grant Park and found a huge party of some sort going on. We walk up to the gates and there’s a big sign that says “Chicago Blues Festival 2015  – Come On In, It’s Free!” OMG, I’ve never been to a Blues Festival before and this was amazing! We passed by at least 6 “stages” with different blues bands performing all over the park. There was food, of course, and lots and lots of people! It was amazing and beautiful and fun! And it was FREE!! When can you sit down and listen to live performances anywhere for free?  I would love to give you a sampling of what we heard, but I’m not that good at this yet.  Maybe the next festival!  Anyway, we really enjoyed the experience and are looking forward to a lot more “FREE” festivals in the city — apparently, they have them all summer long! Yahoo!  Until tomorrow …

Awesome! Lynn & I went to a blues festival in New Orleans back in 1987. It was great! What an awesome beginning to your Chicago adventure.

Isn’t that wonderful Lani that you and Eddie had a great time exploring your new neighborhood? That Blues Festival must have been fun listening to all that music for free. Both Jessie and I are music lovers, and for your info, Jessie can’t live without music whether he’s home or in the car. Anyway, it’s so nice to hear from your blog. Love you.
